I am super excited to be hosting Hugh Lee at YogaHara in 2021. Hugh will be offering his 50 hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training during the April School Holidays
This Yin training is for everybody keen to learn about Yin Yoga. Yoga teachers and non teachers* are welcome. In this course you will deepen your understanding of Yin Yoga, learn how to develop skills to confidently teach Yin Yoga, learn to develop own home Yin Yoga practice, learn Functional Anatomy- the difference between muscle tension and Bone compression, understand skeletal variation and how it affects us in all styles of yoga. Learn Chinese Medicine and how it relates to Yin and as tools for healing, discover how Mindfulness and Meditation can be used to build self awareness to manage stress and live peacefully.
*This does not qualify non teachers to teach yoga. To teach yoga including Yin you must have a Yoga Teacher Training qualification in addition to this training. For yoga teachers, this training can be used as CPD with Yoga Australia.

Theory & Practice of Yin Yoga

Yin and Yang differences: understand the concept and importance of balancing Yin/Yang
How Yin Yoga was developed
Yin Yoga asanas: study in detail the physical, mental and energetic benefits of each Yin Yoga posture
How to use props in Yin Yoga: gain knowledge in many different ways props can be used to suit individual needs
How to develop a home Yin Yoga practice that helps to nourish, replenish, rejuvenate and heal.
Anatomy
Learn Functional Anatomy practical ways which will be relevant for both your Yang and Yin styles of practice and teaching.
Discover the differences between muscular tension (muscle tightness) and skeletal compression (bone hitting bone): learn the importance of understanding the differences in your own Yoga (Yang and Yin) practice and in teaching students
Understand the differences between function and aesthetics of poses
Mindfulness Meditation
Learn and experience meditative mindfulness approaches to Yin Yoga
Discover the benefits and relevance of practicing Mindfulness Meditation to everyday life and benefits as a healing tool.
Chinese Medicine and Yin Yoga

About Hugh
Hugh is a fully qualified and experienced Yoga Teacher, a graduate of the Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching (2 year, 1000 hour fully accredited course foundered by Leigh Blashki) from the CAE (Centre for Adult Education) Melbourne. He began teaching in 2008, assisting and co-teaching Andrew Mournehis on Yoga retreats in India, Bali and Australia. In 2013, Hugh trained in Yin Yoga with Paul and Suzee Grilley (100 hours Level one) and in 2015 trained with Sarah Powers “Insight Yoga” Yin Teacher Training 60 hours.
Hugh came to Yoga and Meditation to heal from suffering two decades of depression and anxiety. He no longer suffers from depression episodes, which has inspired him to become a lifelong student of Yin Yoga and Meditation which he finds deeply healing, replenishing and nourishing.
You will find Hugh’s Yin classes and Yin Trainings focuses on practical tools we can use for healing body, mind and spirit. He is very passionate about Chinese Medicine and Mindfulness which he uses as a tool for healing from adrenal fatigue, digestive issues and anxiety. Currently, he receives on-going mentoring from Becky Andrews whose a qualified and experienced Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner of Cloud Gate Therapeutics.
Hugh is based in Torquay, he facilitates Yin Trainings around Australia and teaches Yin Yoga at studios in Geelong and Torquay, he is also available for private one-on-one Yoga tuition.
