Saturday Introductory Yoga - 5 Week Course with Carolyn

Carolyn Sukasana.jpg

Our 5 week Introductory Yoga course is a great place to start if you haven't practiced Yoga before. You will work though the foundation postures (asana) and simple breathing practises (pranayama) plus some basic philosophy to help get a feel for what Yoga is all about. There is a big emphasis on how to work with your particular body, rather than you trying to fit into a particular postural shape. You don't need to be flexible, coordinated or strong, these are some of the great benefits of practicing, not prerequisites. We aim to build body-mind awareness and reduce negative stress.

Studies have shown that yoga can have a positive effect on all aspects of a person's life, including physical, emotional and mental.

Here are 12 reasons why yoga is so good for you (there are 100s):

  • Build muscle strength

  • Improve flexibility

  • Helps with your posture

  • Keeps your spine healthy

  • Calms the nervous system

  • And the mind

  • Supports bone health

  • Improves circulation

  • Assists lymph drainage and improves immunity

  • Improves your balance

  • Helps you focus

  • Makes you happy (Seriously, it does. It can increase your serotonin levels)

So go ahead, change your life today.
