Yoga wisdom has been lauded for centuries for its insight and clarity around living a happy, fulfilled life. Although it dates back 1000s of years, the principles and philosophy are as true now in this 21st century as they ever were.
It is so much more than exercise. I am excited to be able to offer these classes that will delve more deeply into what makes yoga, Yoga and to clarify the role of Asana in the yogic framework. As a work-in rather than a work-out.
Using the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and other philosophical frameworks that support a yogic lifestyle, we will begin this first session by clarifying the types of yoga verses the styles of yoga, and then start looking at the 8 fold path as set out in the sutras.
Over the year, we will build on these principles and begin to try and apply them to our own lives. We will explore the koshas, kleshas and antarayas (aren't the words themselves delicious and intriguing?), among other principles.
There will be 8 sessions over the year. I would love for you to join me in deepening your yoga journey.
